both my cousins - anqing and connie are back from aussie! had a mini gathering over dinner to catch up with one another, it's been prolly about 8 months since i've last seen them. congrats to both jiejies for their graduation! (: can't wait for my turn in 3 years' time heh. ended work at 530; wanching jiejie drove togther with connie to pick me up from newton mrt before we headed to botanic gardens to walk kiki, her west highland white terrier.

isn't she adorable?
i love dogs! they're like the awesomest pets on earth :p

walked kiki for approximately half an hour before we had to send her back to jiejie's place as we were heading for timbre @ substation. had much fun walking kiki even though she's one strong dog for her size, straining on the leash despite wearing a half choker.
had to use my iphone to route the way from jiejie's place to timbre as none of us had an idea how to go there. when we finally parked the car at SMU's Lee Kong Chian school of business and navigated our way towards the substation, a super malu incident happened to me. any of you who's been to timbre @ substation should know what i'm referring to. there was an entrance with a sign board that read 'the substation', and so any person in the right frame of mine would enter it, thinking that it would possibly lead to timbre inside. but apparently, not. situated inside it was some theatre, toilets at the side and a few glass doors on the other. it looked somewhat absurd for it to be called timbre (my thought at that point in time) cos we could actually see someone squatting on the cement floor behind the glass doors and laying some pau-looking things for decoration. haha yes, it looked like pau and nothing else. everything seemed so weird and when a guy just walked out of the gents i approached him asking for directions. here's how the ridiculously dumb conversation goes:
Me: Hi, sorry do you know if there's a restaurant somewhere here?
Him (looking really confused and puzzled): A restaurant?! no.
Me: But here's the substation right?
Him: yeah, but there's no restaurant.
...
puzzled, he helped us to ask the guy who was arranging the pau looking things whether there was indeed a resturant in substation. the guy said no, and suddenly went, 'Restaurant?! oh hmm, you mean timbre?' haha and that was when all of us went YES YES YES lol. the word 'timbre' just didnt occur to us at that very point in time and we all felt so dumb and malu haha. asked for directions and we eventually found our way there! here's what we ordered! the food's really not bad and duck pizza tasted like those duck wraps you could find in chinese restaurants during cny. i guess my jiu liang isn't really that good cos when i finished my lychee martini i could actually feel something in my head. not painful though, but can feel like there's something going on in there. was still sober and i guess lychee martini is my limit? :/ read that it has vodka in it which is like 40% alcohol. haha maybe shall try other drinks next time.
breaded calamari rings!
finally tried my first alcohol drink - lychee martini!
mushroom tapas!
duck pizza!
and look what we did to it haha
enjoying the live band with cousins at timbre!
with connie jie (:
loved the atmosphere when the live band came on but it was a tad too loud to chat so we just sat there and enjoyed the music. they even had an sms service whereby we could send in our song dedications and everything; i sent in a text asking them to play payphone by maroon 5 but they didn't i suppose? some guy also sent some mushy love messages that appeared on the screen. anqing and i left around 10 plus as we had to wake up early the following day for work while connie and wanching jiejie stayed behind to wait for may and joey to come. overall it was a really great time catching up with my cousins and glad to know that they're enjoying life and doing well right now (: i would wanna go back to timbre sometime soon but maybe not substation, gonna try out the other outlets.
friday 20th july - work, followed by running at tsh and accompanying dear while he went for training!
sunday 22nd july - church with dear, service ended earlier than usual and it was sad to learn that Pastor Reuben is gonna leave PLMC for TPMC! :( he's a really awesome pastor who delivers really effective sermons as compared to other pastors at PLMC. gonna miss the times when he was preaching :( we headed to cuppage for japanese lunch, it was really yummy but the portion was really quite huge!
walked walked around orchard and we headed home after that (:
so yep that's pretty much what was on for my previous week. 'card games day' with the usuals at dear's house tmr (:
